Mandarin has instant impact. Its bright, sparkling citrus scent simply leaps off the skin. But that is not all. Mandarin is also very fruity and aromatic. It is a wonderful ingredient. Because of its transparency, though, the scent fades quickly. To draw it out a little, I added an extra nuance, a mandarin ingredient used in flavourings, for a very juicy touch. As it begins to fade, Molecule 01 comes forward and an interplay emerges between the warm sensuality of Molecule 01 and the tingling freshness of mandarin. That is unusual, a top note like mandarin and a base note like Iso E Super dancing together like this, bare, without the involvement of any other notes. And finally, when the scent of mandarin has almost gone, Molecule 01 comes fully into its own in all its simplicity. That is what I find so wonderful about Molecule 01 + Mandarin. It may be a dance of just two ingredients, but from the beginning, through the middle, to the end, it tells a different story throughout.” Geza Schoen
