A heavenly way to cleanse and calm the skin: you really must try the Diamond Luminous Rich Luxury Cleanser by Natura Bissé. The warmth of your hands turns the rich gel into a silky oil, a real wow moment. An ultra-soft, soothing feel, together with gentle exfoliation from pomegranate extract, a hint of lavender extract and added vitamins, means you will already be looking forward to your next cleanse.
Next I would normally move on to a toner, but now that my skin is more sensitive and drier, I use the Diamond Cocoon Hydrating Essence. I press this lovely, gel-like essence firmly into the skin with my fingers so it can really get to work, delivering 72 hours of hydration. It also helps guard against pigmentation, skin ageing and loss of firmness. What is special about this product is that it also protects the skin from blue light, which is why I mainly use it in the morning, before I settle in front of my computer.
One of my more positive addictions is the queen of masks: the Honey & Jasmine Mask by The Organic Pharmacy. Twice a week there is a little extra night-time treat. The texture could not be creamier, the scent is glorious, and you can use it as a night cream whenever your skin needs a little extra care and hydration. Evening primrose, shea butter, honey, rosehip and jasmine improve your skin’s elasticity. A lovely gift idea, too: I am sure your friends, family or anyone at all would be delighted with this tube full of happiness.
I am rather spoilt when it comes to testing the best cosmetics, which means I sometimes find it hard to choose. I often tailor my skincare to the seasons, as my skin can respond quite differently to each. In summer, the heat can bring on an unexpected flare of rosacea, while the biting winter cold can really irritate my cheeks. In cold, harsh weather the rich Double Rose Ultra Face Cream by The Organic Pharmacy protects my skin with rose, geranium, aloe vera and squalene.
To ‘repair’, firm and even out my skin, I regularly alternate with Natura Bissé’s flagship, the Diamond Extreme Cream Rich Texture.
A tip for countering loss of firmness and those dreaded hamster cheeks: ‘The Facialift’ by Sarah Chapman. A wonderful and, above all, effective tool for stimulating the connective tissue.
The skin around my eyes is a bit of a worry: sensitive and easily irritated. In the evening I use Hypoallegenic CBD Sensitive Skin Therapy Soothing & Hydrating Eye Cream by Perricone MD under my eyes, and in the morning I use Illuminating Eye Crème by Tata Harper, ideal for tired eyes and sleepless nights. It counters puffiness and contains tiny particles of diamond powder for a highlighting effect that reflects light and makes imperfections less noticeable. The cream has a soft peach tint that gives light coverage and helps disguise dark circles. As I find it hard to choose between the very best, I regularly alternate with the similar Diamond Cocoon Sheer Eye, which also increases the skin’s energy uptake around the eyes, so the fine texture visibly improves.
If your skin drinks in every cream and craves extra moisture, the Hyaluronic Acid Serum by The Organic Pharmacy is indispensable by the basin. A few drops beneath your daily routine really do make the difference.
I also have a few products I genuinely cannot do without in winter, and I always keep them with me when I am out and about or at the office. The Lip Moisturizer by Santa Maria Novella is a fixture on my bedside table and in my bag.
Ultra Dry Skin Cream: I always keep this wonder cream at home. I use it to give my cheeks extra protection on a raw, cold walk with my dog, and it also soothes and calms conditions such as psoriasis and eczema, or simply those annoying dry patches on arms and legs.
