Kismet by the classic French perfume house Lubin draws on a fragrance from 1921, created for the Ottoman princess and spy Kismet. Through the Roaring Twenties she was the radiant centre of Parisian nightlife, until one day she vanished without trace, never to return. What remains of her captivating presence is this alluring perfume of bergamot, lemon, petitgrain, rose, patchouli, labdanum, opoponax and vanilla.

Even today, many of these refined, timeless perfumes are based on age-old recipes and remain much loved by true connoisseurs.

Warme opoponax
Letterlijk een van de beste geuren die ik heb geroken… de geur draait voor mij vooral om opoponax, een wierookhars met aspecten van vanille, honing, lavendel en kaneel (met een vleugje homeopathisch medicijn). Het is super smooth , de citrus is niet te scherp of te fris en voegt slechts wat licht toe aan een warme knusse donkere geur. De roos is droog en voelt meer als een aspect van opoponax ipv een losse geurnoot. Hoe langer de geur blijft, hoe meer de vanille naar voren komt. De vanille is zeer realistisch, totaal niet zoet of cupcake achtig zoals vele vanilles van vandaag. Het is sensueel en warm. Perfecte geur voor liefhebbers van guerlain klassiekers zoals shalimar extrait. Blijft overigens heel lang, de sillage is aan de zwakkere kant maar dat mag van mij wel zo wezen
